Restylane

Restylane® is another hyaluronic acid product which is often used to augment the lips and to smooth wrinkles or acne scars. Hyaluronic acid is biocompatible and biodegradable, which means it is safe for the body and will be naturally broken down and eliminated over time. Results from Restylane typically last approximately an average of 6 months. It is used very successfully under the eyes. It causes less swelling than the other fillers, so is perfect for under eyes.

CONDITION TREATED: Folds extending from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth (“the parentheses”) and folds extending downward from the corner of the mouth. We can also enhance cheeks, chins and noses. We can also smooth out acne scars or other scars. We can also fill the hollows of the hands.

THE TREATMENT: A dermal filler is injected under the skin.

RESULTS: The filler temporarily plumps up or fills in the wrinkles, scars, lips or contour irregularities.

TREATMENT CONSISTS OF: One treatment

TREATMENT INTERVAL: 6 to 12 months

TREATMENT TIME: 30 to 60 minutes

RECOVERY TIME: Some swelling and redness at the treatment site may occur. This generally fades in a matter of hours.
